The dog got wet while playing and now it stinks. Cleaning won't help

Bought this for my little Yorkie to keep him safe in the garden and looking cool. This is a great collar but when it gets wet it smells really bad. I've tried cleaning it several times but I still can't get rid of the smell. Of course, the dog collar will get wet sooner or later. Guess I'll have to buy another somewhere that's made for dogs like canines.
