I purchased this intake kit with minimal expectations of performance gain or fuel economy. The primary benefit of retrofitting the intake manifold and filter is the convenience of being able to completely remove the assembly with minimal effort before doing any work on the engine (e.g. changing spark plugs or repairing vacuum lines). Being on sale and knowing that Roush had a full line of licensed OEM parts for the F-150 upgrade made it an easy choice over K&N for that application. This is a very strong and precisely engineered intake system. It was specifically designed for 2015-16 3.5 EcoBoost applications, although on 2017-18 and Raptor specific applications it will work with the additional steps of modifying and cutting plastic segments and installing the included bracket. Installation (if you have the discipline to actually read and follow the instructions is easy and can be completed in 15-30 minutes. LESSONS LEARNED: 1. Follow the instructions, making sure you do not carry any parts or equipment 2 You'll think you're missing one of the three grommets and you might start screaming and throwing things or even crying.It's actually flush in the largest grommet.Much easier and more convenient to den Engine to be maintained and serviced. Unfortunately a few hours after the installation was completed my truck (which was never used for towing or off-roading) experienced a sudden intake valve failure with no warning exactly 99,999 miles after 0 DTC was stored and it there was no misfire history.I'm waiting 6-8 months to overhaul the engine so I can't comment on the performance Intake.Ford issue.
