I hesitated to order this kettle because of the price. But the positives outweigh the negatives. Positive - Good design. The teapot is seamless so the bottom seam won't come loose or rust! The bottom of the kettle is slightly wider, so you can use a larger flame or burner to heat the water faster. The handle is made of a kind of high-density plastic, so there is no need for pot holders after heating the water. It also features one-handed operation - a lever under the handle opens the spout and a button at the top of the handle closes the spout, all without moving your hand. The cap is made of the same material as the handle and can be easily removed with your fingers by gripping the handle from above. A big plus is that the kettle costs less than $20 with a very nice design! Cons: Stainless steel feels a bit flimsy. and can therefore dent easily, which also makes it lighter and easier to handle. The kettle is polished steel, not brushed, and appears to have darkened slightly after a few weeks of use. However, the underside did not discolour at all even after several weeks of daily use on a gas flame. I rubbed the outside with warm soapy water to clean it. I don't use anything that will scratch the steel, as I suspect polished steel is easily scratched.
