I had to buy this because my current Vizio TV is a "display" TV and not a true tuner TV. This is the same price as some other converters. , but there was an extra antenna in the kit, so I decided to give it a try. The antenna is practically useless; It claims an indoor range of 35 miles, and while I'm only 15 miles in a straight line from most of our TV stations, it only found 3 or 4. My old Phillips antenna picked up about 30 channels. The converter works perfectly. . It takes a while to find channels, but every tuner I've used does. You might have better luck with the antenna than me if you're closer to the stations, but it definitely doesn't have a 35-mile range.
