This doorstop was purchased to replace a broken doorstop without a spring loaded arm. The broken doorstop didn't hold when closing the door and prevented the door from closing. This was a problem as the door sometimes had to be closed for security reasons. This doorstop was a much better solution. It was of equal or better quality than a broken doorstop. A step lever to operate the spring to push the doorstop up to close the door is much easier than releasing the doorstop with your toe and manually pushing it up to latch. So much better, in fact, that the staff asked me to replace all the doorstops in the ER.
