Works as advertised. The hardest part of the installation was routing the power cord inside the RV. I would like the thermostat to have more stable and closer thermal contact and/or isolation from ambient conditions as I use it regularly at -5°F and need to (easily) adjust the thermostat's set point. 425W is slightly less but electrically and thermally safer for a water heater. Supposedly I could fit the longer 625W element from the 10 gallon kit into my 6 gallon suburban water heater. But at least I can use my existing inverter more easily, using a 12V (13.8V) motor supply at 30A and idling the motor. The 625W cell needs a new special inverter with 50A 12V power line and it will be high speeds. Most of the time I just need warm water to wash my hands and keep the system from freezing. What I meant was that it would be a redundant backup of the more powerful propane heater in case I ran out of propane or the propane heater failed. The anode mount is great but wish it was a little longer/bigger to last longer. Generally happy.
