What You NEED to Know About Small Space Heaters

First off, all of the basic home heaters you can buy in the US that run on 120 volts are NOT rated for more than 1500 watts - in fact, most are Settings at 1500W and a lower setting around 750W. At a maximum output of 1500 watts they put out around 5100 Btu of heat - no matter what shape they take - whether they look like a radiator, a fireplace or this little plastic heater. They may distribute heat slightly differently, but neither of them will give you more usable heat. Second, most of them now have basic safety features like overheat cutoff and rollover cutoff, things you should expect from any small electric heater. NEVER connect these heaters to an extension cord. Third, not all small electric heaters have adjustable thermostats (this one has a good one). Some are simply on or off and some have two heat settings, but good models have at least two heat settings and an adjustable thermostat. THIS HEATER is fitted with a thermostat that regulates the temperature from just above freezing to continuous operation, perfect when you want something warm to avoid freezing, such as a fridge. e.g. plants. Some of them have minimum settings around 50 degrees Fahrenheit. There are many small heaters out there that look pretty much the same with two buttons at the top and similar values. I've bought different brands and they're all really about the same. This offers excellent value for money.
