Great Expansion Pack Option

I'm a perpetual deal-hunter, so when Prime Day arrived, I was scoping out all of the things I had been meaning to buy anyway. More train tracks for my two young girls were on the list. I was excited about this set because it had a lot of basics to make a variety of track configurations. When the package arrived, I was pleased as I took out the tracks that all of the pieces were consistent in quality--you don't always get that. There is a good variety of all the different kinds of tracks you…

Pros
  • ORBRIUM
Cons
  • Takes up a lot of space for storage

Great Train Set!: my feedback

We purchased this set to expand the KidKraft Figure 8 Train Set my 2 1/2 year old son was gifted with over Christmas. Those small sets are practically ruined if you lose just one piece and there is little to no flexibility on what type of track your child can build. In this 56 piece set, the curved pieces are tracks on both sides so flipping them is easy to build your set. The male/male and female/female pieces the set comes with are a life saver for when you use the junctions. The male portion

Pros
  • Easy to assemble and disassemble
Cons
  • May require additional pieces to create interesting features (e.g. tunnels, mountains

Still great for my opinion

Some of the tracks fit a little tight, and a few were not grooved correctly to fit trains without derailing them. Still great variety

Pros
  • Promotes hand-eye coordination
Cons
  • Wooden tracks can be more prone to warping from temperature changes

Not sure about the durability.

Arrived with one piece split at the top. Another piece has a split but still in one piece. Pieces smaller than expected. My grandson had fun and did not want me to send back for replacement. He wants me to glue the broken piece. Nice to have extra track. But not pleased about the split piece.

Pros
  • Sparks a love of engineering and construction
Cons
  • Tracks can become loose over time, requiring frequent readjustment

Great price for pack!

My 8 year old was very excited to get these. A few pieces are harder to put together with others but I guess it is better than them connecting really loose.

Pros
  • Great for group play and socialization
Cons
  • May not be as compatible with non-compatible train sets

Great way to expand track system.

Bought these as a gift for a 3 year old. All the pieces are great. This an economical way to expand you toy train collection.

Pros
  • Ideal for both boys and girls
Cons
  • Encourages static play rather than imaginative play

Good value. A lot of good, basic pieces.

I got this as an expansion for a Battat "All Aboard" set. I don't know if Battat is mentioned by name in the list of compatible sets, but this expansion pack works perfectly with it. The tunnel was on the wrong side of the track in my set but it only took 3 minutes or so to unscrew it and put it on right. It was more humorous than annoying.I recommend getting the set of male/male and female/female adapters, sold separately. This set has a few but it's always good to have more.

Pros
  • Expands the train set collection
Cons
  • Requires a lot of space for a large expansion

Great quality in my review

I did buy this as an expansion pack and matches perfectly with the tracks I bought first. I'm not sure if my son liked it better than me because of all the possible combinations or me by "creating" them.Excellent choice!

Pros
  • Reduces screen time
Cons
  • May not be as portable as plastic train sets

This track set is perfect! For very young train enthusiasts starting out with their first trains, I would recommend getting this track set and some trains instead of a ready made set. This same company offers a 12 piece train set for a very reasonable price, together you will have many more options and much more fun than a regular starter set, and all for a much better total price for what you get. The pieces in this set offer so many layout possibilities. For very young children, I do not…

Pros
  • Great gift for train enthusiasts
Cons
  • The pack may not be customizable enough for some creative builders

Great quality: my feedback

Great quality pieces. A few are a little tight in their connections, but I'm sure they will loose up over time. They fit with other brand wooden tracks. Awesome investment if you/your kid is super into trains.

Pros
  • Can be used for educational purposes
Cons
  • May not be as durable as plastic train sets

Wonderful Quality!: my feedback

Wonderful quality- I was skeptical given the price difference between these and the Thomas sets. Right out of the box they were perfect and we were able to build exciting new track configurations. I would absolutely buy again, and will look for other products from this brand.

Pros
  • Portable for on-the-go play
Cons
  • Can become boring quickly without a variety of features

The little train that connects

Matched up with the train set we got for our grandson last Christmas. He loves it and plays with it all the time.SIMPLY OUTSTANDING!

Pros
  • Introduces important math concepts
Cons
  • May not be as engaging for children who have outgrown their love of trains

Check for Quality Issues

The quality of these tracks seems lower than other track sets we have purchased. There were a few pieces in the set that were broken or had jagged edges. I would check the pieces in the set before letting your children play with them. But for the pieces that were good, they fit well with other track sets.EDIT: I wrote into the seller and they replaced the items that were damaged. They took good care of us and made the quality issues right!

Pros
  • Reinforces color recognition
Cons
  • Can make a lot of noise when trains run over the tracks

Great quality but broken piece.

I purchased these for my grandsons to play with at our house. They both have the IKEA train sets with plastic end pieces. These teacks are great quality and solid wood pieces. We were disappointed that one of the straight tracks was broken in the package. The solid wood end piece was broken. On the IKEA pieces this part is plastic, so I'm hoping these tracks are as durable. The packaging was wonderful and the broken piece was not included, so this must have been overlooked. Also there was a…

Pros
  • Develops fine motor skills
Cons
  • Can be expensive to fully expand your track set

OK value for the price

Works fine with the original Thomas wood tracks, but you can tell it is much lower quality. Several pieces needed to be sanded as they had rough, sharp edges and they get stuck and are hard for me to pull apart.

Pros
  • Develops patience and follow through
Cons
  • Can be challenging to use for young children
