Arrived on time and as described. This goo stays THICK and white. Dries clear. Has a rubbery feel and adds "no slip". Very flexible. The rug I repaired had a high pile with heavy yarn loops front and back where the weft and knotting were quite uneven. The original rubber backing came off just laying it on the floor and made a huge mess when washed. I used a stiff brush to remove as much of the original rubber backing as possible without damaging the fibers, meaning most of the original. rubber left. Read as -> it was just a jumble of gum flakes and dots 1/2 to 1/4 inch or smaller. a short, stiff-bristled brush (about 1/16th at Lowe's) to apply a bright white paste to the wrong side of the carpet. The directions for the product indicate that it is best to apply thin coats and dry between coats. I followed the directions as best I could and *rubbed* the product into the clumps on the back of the carpet; I go out of my way to completely cover all the nooks and crannies on the top and bottom of the fibers and cover the remaining flaky backing and make sure it stays in a thin layer. I let the carpet dry for 24 hours. After drying, I evaluated the repair and decided one coat looked good enough. I machine washed the rug as usual and there was literally no peeling or signs that peeling might have occurred. The same result after machine drying. The carpet has been completely refurbished and perfected. After a month of use, weekly washing and drying, the rug still works and looks like new. I expect it will stay that way for quite a while.. Conclusion: This goo works and has updated/restored my carpet to 'new'. Highly recommended and will definitely buy again if needed.
