Here are my settings: My TV can only output Dolby Digital (no PCM). And it only has an optical audio output (Toslink). My soundbar has optical and RCA inputs. Only PCM can be received optically. So a direct optical cable will not work. This unit converts Dolby Digital to Analog (RCA) and it works for my setup. This is what you need if you are in the same situation as me. LPCM. It will not work.
