The inlet tube simply pushes into a rubber bushing which then attaches to the air can. As a result, with every major movement of the engine (e.g. increasing the engine speed), the intake pipe is simply pushed out of the rubber bushing, allowing completely unfiltered air to enter the engine. In my opinion, this is a major design flaw. Also, I contacted K&N support with a request to fix this issue with my 57S-9501 air intake and received a response almost 3 days later stating clearly that they had not read my email. They just told me that the 57i series air intake (which I didn't buy) doesn't necessarily fit North American cars. I recommend staying away from this air intake kit and maybe even the entire company.
