This is my fourth pair for many years, they are good water shoes, yes you get used to the sock, now I prefer them, they don't let my fingers slip, squeak, etc I have them enough for about 2 seasons then the thumb starts to give and crack inside then the finger starts to stick out and sticks out sometimes so maybe in the 3rd season I will reach 2 1/2 that I will have to order another pair. and the price keeps going up, I've bought others but one of the things that keeps me coming back to them is the thickness of the sole and the way they curl up a little on the sides, I walk on a lot of stones. (gravel slabs/river) and that's the only other issue I have other than my toe, the drainage holes at the bottom are a bit too big for me, every now and then I hit a sharp rock in just the "right spot" . " and it sticks to me, although I can say again that the ground is thick enough where the point of the stone pierces me but doesn't go through. Another thing associated with stones is that they can get stuck at the bottom, and often you can't even feel them due to the thickness of the bottom, but sometimes you can and should take them out (take a pocket knife with you - easy) They need to change the material they use between their fingers to be more durable be and close the bottom slightly otherwise great shoes.
