Update a year later 12/4/19: As I said, I'm looking for a permanent finish from this sealant. I typically drive a few hours a day and usually park my car outside at night and this product legally lasts 2 months under these conditions. I think three months is realistic if the car is in the garage and not used much. Simply a great seal, I don't know anything that looks as good and lasts half as long. Original rating. I bought this product because of the great reviews. here after eight to ten hours of washing and polishing my new black SUV with carnauba wax, only to wear it out in less than two weeks. The car looks amazing after applying this product, but it looked just as amazing with carnuba wax. I just don't have the time to wax every weekend. Four times a year is realistic, so I hope Wolfgang's seal lasts three months. As many people claim, this sealant works much faster than carnauba wax. The full day carnub wax work today took only four hours (washing and waxing). Why? Everyone puts a lot of emphasis on this product working faster, but for me the real time saver is not having to polish it. After application, simply wipe off after 30-45 minutes of curing. Before wiping, make sure the product is clear and not cloudy when you run your fingers over the machine so you know it's ready to wipe (as the manufacturer says on their website). Towel buffed with me for the next two days to get lots of spots where the wax was thicker that could only be seen in certain lighting conditions. With this product you don't have to go over the area again after rubbing and everything looks even. Since you only want to apply the sealer to a very clean car, it still takes a lot of time and work. So as I said, I hope the wolfgang sealing lasts 3 months, but we'll see. I'll update this to see how it went. But I have every reason to believe advertising. For reference, I used about half a bottle, but I probably applied it too thick before I could feel it. Anyway, this was on a mid-size SUV, so smaller cars need less. The cost doesn't bother me at all if I get three months. Also, be sure to leave the machine in a place where dew will not collect for at least 12 hours after application. My covered carport helps when nighttime temps don't drop too much, but from fall through early spring I'll probably put on a car cover after application to prevent dew build-up. According to the manufacturer, Wolfgang WG-5500 does not harden when wet. Since I am primarily interested in the durability of the product; Healing it properly will be key.
