Good features but some frustrating crashes

This overview mainly focuses on heart rate functions. I mainly do high-intensity interval training, plyometrics, and functional strength training, and I have a chest heart rate monitor to track these activities since wrist heart rate monitors don't do a very good job. for these activities. I wanted Garmin to track steps and daily heart rate and not have to use a chest strap for every run, walk or other lighter exercise. When comparing Garmin's heart rate to Wahoo when running or walking, Garmin is consistently about 10 beats lower than Wahoo and my hand-based heart rate. When I was doing high-intensity interval training, functional strength, etc., they were about 40-60 beats lower than Wahoo and manual HR. Big disappointment. BUT – I've found that setting it to "Cardio" is much more accurate, even if you're doing HIIT or basic rep-based strength training. Once I figured that out, I was much happier with the HR accuracy and overall usage. I had some sync issues and had to contact support, download software to my computer, mount folders on my watch and manually delete them. It's pretty annoying. I also bought it as it is waterproof and was very happy to track my swimming moves. But don't be fooled it tracks swimming. I must have overlooked that when I bought it, but when you wear it in the water it constantly feels the water as it records a touch on the display, changing settings or pausing/ending a workout. So there is no way to follow the training in the water. If I understood the discrepancy in heart rate and inability to track swimming, I probably would have gone with a different model. Overall I like this product. It measures a lot and is pretty accurate once you get the hang of it. The notifications and functionality of the controls on the watch itself are great for the price.
