I read all the reviews before buying. This is the first rangefinder I've bought and I trusted the reviews and the SIG brand. The instrument is easy to use and appears to be accurate (I haven't tested long range accuracy, but it is accurate at short range). As mentioned in many reviews, the black straight dial is difficult to read in low light; I think this could be an easy fix for manufacturers. As a user, you may want to set your hunting area in advance if you plan to hunt in low light conditions. I plan on using mine in full light for work so this shouldn't be a big deal to me. I would buy it again if needed.
