I was looking for shoes for my Pomeranian as I live in California where it can get very hot. Many sizes vary with each dog shoe, so it is very difficult to assess how small the little ones really are. I was hoping looking at the reviews would help get an idea of the sizes, but there doesn't seem to be anyone who owns a dog under 10lbs. ever buy these things or leave a review. I took a chance and bought a very small size for my 6 lb Pomeranian. When I got them in the mail this morning they were so small I was afraid they might be too small! But in fact they fit perfectly and he walks in them without any problems and feels no discomfort. Most of the time they fit well and only fall off if they are not attached properly or not tight enough. If you have a dog with cat-sized paws, I think XS is adequate.
