These pads look exactly like the originals. The instructions were a bit wrong as there didn't seem to be any reason to remove the back plate? I took it off and cleaned the fans and exhaust vents while I was there, but the footpegs have no "downside". Based on the photo and the included screws I figured there would be a leg that goes out and a retaining tab that goes in, but at least on my MacBook, do they just stick to the outside of the case? It was nice to have spare screws and the tool provided worked great. So, if the pad's outer area is clean and transparent, these stick easily with pre-applied glue, but you can still open it - years of dust inside ;)
