Surprised! in Computer Components

I've been buying a bunch of cheap electronics lately and it usually takes a mad rush to find source material once it gets here. I was pleasantly surprised to see a reasonable sized package that included a small instruction manual as well as jumpers. Worth every dollar if you are trying to get up and walk. Good job folks.

Pros
  • Stylish and Modern Design
Cons
  • Boring Packaging

Quick and easy to install, gets the job done and is very economical.

I use them on a Raspberry Pi cluster to quickly display system monitor information. Serves its purpose and was fairly easy to install. There are too many of these OLED displays and it's hard to decide which one to buy, they all look the same. I'm happy to report that my random choice of this item turned out to be a safe decision.

Pros
  • Very impressive

  • Not bad but...

Great Little OLED Display

If you're looking for a small, bright, two-line OLED display to use in your Arduino projects etc., you've found it. This 0.91 inch OLED display from DSD Tech is well made, only has 4 pins to connect (GRD, VCC, SCL and SDA) and is very easy to include in your Arduino projects etc. There is a library in the Arduino repository. For this (and other DSD Tech displays) DSD Tech has a sketch on their website that you can download, enter the information you want to show on the two-line display, and…

High refresh rate, great product

Although the documentation is not readily available, there is evidence of a Git library that is easy to work with. In fact, there is even a wiki for this library. One of the most important characteristics of my project was the update rate (i.e. the characters change quickly, and before that one of them did not fade slowly) and can increase to about 1200 words per minute. However, the display is small, but it was also advertised as such.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Hard to say

THESE ITEMS ARE SMALLER THAN YOU EXPECT!

I agree because I had to check the measurements on the seller's site. Despite this, they are of really good quality and do not display text information well on small devices. They are very good and the OLED panel makes them attractive for low power displays.

Pros
  • Wide range
Cons
  • No color required

Light! All you need is some experience with Python, C++ or Arduino.

The device was packaged securely and arrived intact. I had a Yahoo! RGB cooling hat for my Raspberry Pi 4 which I2C display was NOT boxed and was DSD tech displays and arrived DOA so I ordered it as a replacement. I already had the software installed on the RPi4 and the display worked right out of the box. I am very happy with the purchase and intend to use the additional I2C display in one of my Arduino projects!

Pros
  • I'm holding my fists
Cons
  • Not bad

Cheap, useful, good looking

I used this as part of my smart car project connected to Arduino via I2C. That works great! It offers a clear, easy-to-read display, even under the Texas sun! You can also find ready-made Arduino libraries for various boards including original Arduino and ESP32 boards. For the price I wouldn't mind having a few of these in my drawer just for future projects. But beware, it's a 'small' screen (that's why I bought it in the first place) so don't expect a big screen. But let me tell you that it…

Pros
  • Delivery was very quick
Cons
  • Crumpled

Good display, difficult to install

I bought this to use with the Particle Photon controller. The recommended libraries don't work for Photon, but I was able to use the Adafruit libraries and they worked great. The only issue I have is with the physical setup. Only the pins on one side of the board make it a large console and don't fit well in the case. I really need to print some kind of flange mount, but that's difficult because there's very little space between the top pixels of the display and the edge of the display. The…
