I'm only showing about 5 amps at idle at 1000 rpm and 15 amps at 2000 with a 27" belt, small Chevy block (small 1 belt 5.25 crank pulley ) I'll update this review if I find out more. A pwm 8178 XS (55) amp mini alternator appears which could be the answer to idle charging. With XS you can increase the voltage from 13.5 to 18.5 volts. Your standard 12 volt system should do up to 14.8 volts. Use a voltmeter. Also 35A at 23-2400 and 55-58A at 7500 25A/2500.30A 3000, 36A/4000, 40A/5000, 42A 6000. Shows 0 amps at 1000 RPM. This rating will also help drag racers who have to restart a lot and over and over again.
