Works well, fits alternators

I used this alternator to replace a stator with an alternator on a Honda Gold Wing. The smaller size was great for my workspace and works well for me. Marked with (3) only during installation as it is the manufacturing process in my situation.

Perfect for converting Honda GL1200 Goldwing "Poor Boy "!

This alternator was purchased to replace the stator on a 1985 Honda Goldwing. It's surprisingly small, and while it doesn't fire a ton of amps, it's way, way better than the stock Honda stator (which is notorious for its bugs).

Used this on my front 1958 Farmall Cub, relocated and bolted to the original alternator bracket to fit under the hood, used the original tensioner arm and works great it was so clean loved it sent for another to have on hand for my next recovery.

Worked great in my Allis Chalmers CA 12v conversion

I purchased this alternator as part of my 6v to 12v conversion on my Allis Chalmers CA tractor. It fits like it was made for him. The bracket kit I purchased did not need to be cut to clear the tie rod due to the small diameter of this assembly. I had to machine the included pulley to accommodate the 5/8" belt used on this tractor, but there was plenty of material for this modification. It works well.

Will not charge in starters and alternators

Connected to the main battery positive terminal, the bracket has a reliable ground. Spin it clockwise at 2,000 rpm at idle and 2,800 rpm at full speed. Regardless of the level or voltage of the battery, the alternator will not power or charge. Very disappointed as I had to custom assemble my tractor and now have to order something else to use as I don't have time to return, wait for them to process and ship another one. I called the company that did this and got a round robin redirect followed…

I'm only reading about 5 amps when idling.

I'm only showing about 5 amps at idle at 1000 rpm and 15 amps at 2000 with a 27" belt, small Chevy block (small 1 belt 5.25 crank pulley ) I'll update this review if I find out more. A pwm 8178 XS (55) amp mini alternator appears which could be the answer to idle charging. With XS you can increase the voltage from 13.5 to 18.5 volts. Your standard 12 volt system should do up to 14.8 volts. Use a voltmeter. Also 35A at 23-2400 and 55-58A at 7500 25A/2500.30A 3000, 36A/4000, 40A/5000, 42A 6000…
