Review on πŸ”Œ Denso 234-4209 Oxygen Sensor with Connectors (not included) by Shawn Welker

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good for the Yaris. Yaris code programming is different from other car brands. You may have to travel a few miles to retrain.

In short for Toyota Yaris 20101. Install this Denso oxygen sensor. 2. Clear the trouble code from the ECM. 3. Drive 10-20 miles 4. Scan the ECM to see if the code is still on or not. It fits Yaris 2010 Downstream (Heated Oxygen Sensor). After replacement, you may need to drive 10-20 miles to reprogram the ECM. Without driving you may be able to see the DTC again. The Yaris ECM appears to recognize this oxygen sensor after a specific drive cycle has been completed. It was embarrassing when I saw the error code after replacing it. I kept erasing the trouble code with my scanner. Even I installed another brand O2 sensor to check if this Denso sensor is faulty. But again I had a leftover DTC with another brand of O2 sensor. After running 10-20 miles again with the Denso O2 sensor, I scanned the ECM. Then I was happy with no error code from the Yaris ECM. Compared to other brands of cars, the Toyota Yaris ECM confused me, but I think it was a slightly different way of programming from each individual company. BTW, you may need a wire stripper/cutter/crimper tool.

Pros
  • Very good value
Cons
  • I vaguely remember
