"8 Modes" can be misleading as it includes "Off" and calculate three time-delayed triggering possibilities (4, 6 and 8 hours). The remaining modes turn on ("smooth”), blink (all bulbs are the same color), fade and automatic blinking with color change (bulbs are different colors and change with the next flash). The remote control (should be pointed directly at the plug/receiver) has a choice of 16 colors but most of these do not work. The description is correct: red, green, blue. The lights are bright and one string was enough to cover a 5ft tree. Note: There is no "white" light option with a red, teal filament.
