Review on Ultimate Bike Companion: Blackburn Outpost Cargo Water Bottle Cage by Darryl Pendall

Not bad, the mounts are a bit

I have a huge AVEX 1.9L/64oz Growler that I wanted to mount on the front fork of my bike. This works - and it works well - but there are caveats, which I'll discuss below. SECURITY: The straps have a rubber or silicon-like coating on the back for excellent adhesion to water bottles and also the buckle. These straps work very well with a load >1kg, such as a B. a 1 liter water bottle. They work with loads up to 3kg, but you have to stop every hour or so to tighten the straps. If your water bottle is metal, I highly recommend using silicone tape to wrap the contact points on the cage. Because the straps stretch and bend easily, the water bottle may show signs of wear. The silicone strap solves this problem by softening the contact point and adding some friction. INSTALLATION: Properly tightened bolts will do for the lighter loads I mentioned (>1kg), but for heavier loads you should use a clamp to strengthen the connection. Following another reviewer here (thanks, Revain customer) I used the cut hose as a spacer to protect my paintwork.
