You can think of these as ONLY tire levers or ONLY as a chain quick connect tool. However, they are both and both work very well. I have had many tire levers over the years. I was afraid of some of them breaking. Those I dealt with always did. They have sufficient strength and thickness, which doesn't bother me even when working with brand new tires. Excellent work!
