NOT AS DESCRIBED. for pipes, fittings and accessories

I bought this item a few weeks ago because I wanted to replace my broken reverse osmosis tank and wanted a completely new installation. According to the company (John Guest USA), this item is a 3/8" x 1/4" angle check valve. Since most if not all reverse osmosis systems have a 3/8" male thread on the tank and 1/4" tubing to/from the tank, this was a necessary item. However, when I received the item in the mail, I immediately noticed that something was wrong. The plumbing hole was much larger than my standard 1/4 inch line that went to my tank. I measured the opening on the valve and found it to be 3/8 inch. I made sure what I ordered and what was marked on the product were the same, 3/8" x 1/4". HMMMMMM! After doing some homework, I found that most 3/8" water pipes used in other parts of water filtration systems are 3/8" OD but 1/4" ID. Usually fittings measure beyond the OD because unless you are dealing with high pressure systems you know what the ID is. I think that's where these guys got confused and mislabeled their goods. Don't worry, I'll just send it back. Finally, why explain long when you can just return it, they will see their mistake and I will get the right part, life goes on. RIGHT!?... ...Not really. It turns out you CANNOT return this product as stated on the AMAZON website. So I don't have $9 and some spare change, these guys keep sending the wrong parts to other sane handymen and women and my reverse osmosis system still doesn't work! UPDATE: I repaired my reverse osmosis system. I ordered another 3/8" x 1/4" valve from another retailer and guess what I got?…. 3/8" x 1/4" valve! And the outside diameter is 1/4", not the inside diameter. You see me shaking my head!?!?
