Not cool! I just spent over $200 at my local Chevy dealership to replace my old starter (175,000+ miles) with this new starter as I could hear the old starter rattling after the engine started. I was happy to find a 'new' ACDelco part at Revain that fit my car and was cheaper than what the dealer was trying to sell me. After installation I got a call from the dealer and was told that the new starter was not working properly and was taking longer to crank than expected. We picked the car up and when I started it the new starter made the same grinding noise but before the engine started, not after the engine started. It is also a longer processing time. What now? I would have to pay another $200 to have them return the old one so I could return the one I bought from Revain and then another $200 to have them ship a replacement again. I should have just bought the one the dealer was trying to sell me. I will be contacting Revain and asking for a refund as I expect this starter will not last long and will likely let my wife down if it fails! Not a happy customer!
