I have a very high instep, that bone on the top of the foot and a high arch. I also have to wear an additional rubber insert in my shoes to protect the large bone on the bottom of the foot below the big toe because I do not have enough of a fat pad to keep that area from getting sore. Good luck finding anything that can accommodate both the high instep and the additional pad. I have three pairs of years old Vasque trail runners that I really need to replace but haven't yet found anything that works. I bought these inserts trying to give them more support so I can limp along until I find new shoes. Good Feet inserts hurt my arch, in fact any insert I found is either no support at all or my arches get too much pressure. I was worried about these because of the harder arch area, but they don't bother my arch at all. I replaced my old terribly used Vasque inserts with these and added my rubber pad and although I can tell the sole of the shoe has been worn down they add a lot of support at the heel area and don't hurt the arch. Vasque shoes are notorious for very little cushioning but that's probably the only reason I can even get my foot in them. I just ordered two more pairs for these cheap tennies I got at Costco that had no support, I have them on now with my new inserts, and for a spare pair of Vasques. I also have one pair of Ahnu day walkers I need to replace but they don't seem to make them so will try these out in them as well. My podiatrist told me that only people with deformed feet require specially made orthotics and that the reason you have an arch is to protect fragile bones in that area of the foot and you don't want a lot of pressure in that area. I am glad I found these. I wear a 6-1/2 shoe and the 6-6-1/2 size fit perfectly in my shoes.
