After adding a large deck and looking for cameras in my backyard, I find that the wireless network that worked fantastic in my house wasn't enough to cover my new living space. I bought a solar powered ring camera and was very happy to put it in my back shed. This gives me full coverage of my garden without the need for cables or multiple cameras. The problem is that the wireless signal is sufficient to search the Internet, but there are problems with wireless video streaming. This device kept popping up when I searched for outdoor hotspots. I thought I'd try it as if I didn't like it I'd just return it. When it arrived I was happy to see all the weather protection built into it. Everything has rubber seals to keep water out of the unit. It also comes with a POE injector which was a nice surprise as I figured I'd have to buy it separately. I ordered an outdoor ethernet cable (just buried) to run to the unit as I wanted to make sure I had the best coverage in my yard. It was pretty easy to set up and attach to the backyard wall. It provides fantastic coverage for the backyard and, quite frankly, most of the neighborhood! Now I can stream all my outdoor cameras fast and in high definition. Time will tell how well it holds up in the cold weather of West New York, but I'm sure it will! After the cold winter months I will proceed with an updated review.
