Review on SharkBite Deburring Depth Copper U702A by Carnell Bollwitt

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Good depth gauge, bad deburring tool

As a guide for marking pipe depth this tool works well, just insert the end of the pipe and mark the correct depth. It is easy to ensure the pipe is fully inserted into the SharkBiite fitting, the pipe will only go a hair's breadth into the ground from the marked depth. This tool is only suitable for deburring pipes. It works decently on PEX tubing, which is a soft plastic, but deburring is poor on copper tubing, even after a few turns. The tool is also quite large, so it may not be able to be used to deburr pipes that are close to a wall or stand. It's also awkward to use as it doesn't have a proper grip. After using this tool on 1/2" copper tubing, I had to additionally smooth the edges with sandpaper and sandpaper. It is imperative that the outer edge of the tubing be clean and slightly beveled so that the internal rubber seal of the SharkBite fitting is not damaged when the tubing is inserted I love SharkBite fittings, they are simple and reliable, but SharkBite should come with the best tool for pipe marking and deburring.
