Review on ACDelco GM 12679100 VVT Solenoid Kit: Exhaust Variable Valve Timing with Seal, Retainer, and Bolt by Maurice Harvey

Code P0013 was thrown into my 2008 HHR and I noticed some rough shifting. Turns out the VVT exhaust solenoid was the culprit. Each recommendation read "OEM or Overkill" (ACDelco 12679100). After disconnecting the negative battery cable, removing the airbox, and blowing out the dirt, the hardest part of the install was removing the connector on top of the solenoid (I just had to get a paper clip. At least the little gray clip came off really well). A pair of needle vises made it very easy to pull out the old part. Lubricate the new one with oil and press until you hear a slight click. Then tighten the screws, plug everything back in, done. No more CELs! And another smooth ride.
