The cover is soft and I love that it comes with an extra cover. When dirty, the device is easy to clean. Good length cord. The smallest size is perfect for my 6 lb adult dog. Two stars because my dog won't step on it. I don't know if there is a noise only my dog hears that scares him off the mat, or is he uncomfortable with the plastic surface? I've tried covering the bed with her favorite soft blankets, but it still doesn't fit. My little dog slept on the cold tiles of his kennel instead of this bedding. Even if the temperature in the house is 60 degrees. We wake up in the morning and she's cold. We only tried this rug for a few days before taking it out. The first night the pad was removed, she slept on her regular bed covers again. She had a pet heating pad last winter and slept on it every night. But this pillow was only clean in place and over time it became more difficult to keep clean, so we threw it away after the winter.
