I just received this today so this is my first time using the rake. My husband used it to remove fur from the carpet on our Leonberger, Saint Bernard and 2 small dogs. I haven't vacuumed in a few days waiting to receive this rake. Well, all I can say is that he does what he will do. He lifted all of the dog hair up to the point where it looked like I was vacuuming. I was surprised! The carpet rake head and handle seem to fit together nicely, but I'm sure if you put too much force on the handle it can come off the head. But I'll have to wait and see if that happens. I will provide an update after using this product for a while. The packaging was terrible! The outer box was damaged as if it had been thrown around the warehouse prior to pickup. The box containing the calculator head was open at both ends, so the calculator head hung outside the box. I was sure something would be broken or damaged. Thank God that was not the case, fortunately the goods were intact. This is the reason for the 4 star rating. Overall, I hope this carpet rake will protect my Dyson vacuum by picking up any dog hair before I vacuum. Update: Used today (Day 2) and added an image. The bottom half of the photo shows the carpet before the rake is used. This is 1 day without cleaning. The top half of the image is after I've used a general purpose carpet rake and it looks like I just vacuumed. 2nd update: after using this rake a day after they arrived. I can still say I LOVE it. The rake does its job every time, picking up more dog hair than you see on the carpet. It saved my Dyson vacuum cleaner. I shovel one day and vacuum the next and you never know there are dogs in the house. Take my advice if you have a short or long haired dog, this is the cleaner you MUST have in your arsenal to keep your carpets looking their best. I would recommend it to a friend and hope this review helps others.
