We bought this for my 93 year old mom who lives in the NW Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Her mailbox is across the highway and during the winter, it's hard (and dangerous!) for her to push her rollator through the snow to get her mail. With a letter from her doctor stating the necessity of having her mail delivered up to the house, the post office began doing this after the installation of this mailbox on her covered front porch. It's lock free, which is important for her ease of use and the mail deliverer. The gasket seal keeps the mail dry. It's worked out very well and we're happy with it.
