First of all AMAZING CUSTOMER SERVICE. I was contacted via text message (my favorite) within 12 hours of purchase to make sure I measured everything correctly. The woman was very nice and answered quickly. I wish every product/service had this level of care and attention. Great start! Second, the umbrella arrived earlier than expected. Like 10+ days early. I don't know how it happened but wow! On a scale of 1 to 10 for installation difficulty, I would give it a 3. Aligning and centering is the hardest part. But hey, it's not the passenger pigeons fault lol. Someone with a dollar store tool kit is going to struggle with any project. I measured and set mine for an external mount, so the hardware is exposed and not very inviting. However, I plan to draw an arc around the top of the shadow. This reinforces the minimalist aesthetic. There are a few cheap plastic parts, like the raising and lowering chain with beads/beads, but they can easily be replaced when you get tired of it. It doesn't bother me personally, but I could replace it. I had to make some adjustments to the chain stop mechanism. Not a problem, but it can pose a problem for less qualified people. The lampshade sits very close to the wall and lets in practically no light. The black material blocks all light and looks and feels like a high quality material. Overall I think it's a sexy, simple, minimalist shade. The hardware is really visible, and when I opened the screen all the way, a bracket was exposed. I was able to push it back in. I'm no window treatment expert, but I know what good craftsmanship is when I see it. These shades are made to order, sold at a good price and are well finished. My wife and I wanted to test it out before ordering for the whole house. We are happy with the result and look forward to 7 more purchases.
