I was replacing an old router that kept failing so we had to power it down and restart it. This new one works perfectly once we install and configure it properly. The speed is pretty good: we're actually seeing a 30% improvement for no apparent reason! One of the reasons I bought it was because the range was supposed to be good, but it didn't work for me. It says in the title: RangePLUS! With MIMO. However, my New York apartment appears to have lead walls or some kind of Gaussian surface because the signal doesn't travel from one bedroom to the next. My big complaint about the installer. Linksys/Cisco has gone to great lengths to make it foolproof, with a really neat wizard to make installation easier. Cisco Efforts FAILED! Omigosh, it was impossible to use the installer. It forced security on me when I didn't want it: during initial setup you can disable WPA/WEP, but later when you say you want to change it, WPA and WEP were my only choices! I wanted to block the router with MAC addresses. but could not do it from the master. I *can* do this via the router's web interface, but Linksys/Cisco doesn't make it easy to figure out the correct username and password (the username is an empty string. In other words, they don't exist!). Also, the wizard continues to automatically discover devices on my networkโor ones trying to connect to my network, I'm not sureโthat I had no idea what they were and I don't know how to find them can get rid of. Advertisement! (Now they are not connected as I managed to block the router.) All in all, once set up it will turn out to be an excellent device. But to set it up - REVEAL!
