I need an optical drive for my Acer Aspire One 10.5" and don't need a DVD burner, so I went for this little wonder. I ordered one through Revain (the seller was PowerOptical) and it was in my hands within 2 days. I was honestly amazed at the speed of delivery. I opened the box and pulled out the CD-ROM drive. No manual or software. was provided, but was not a problem. The drive came with two cables, one is a USB data cable and the other is a USB power cable (this is the one with a round connector and the data cable connector is square). Windows XP installed the drivers right away and voila, I was up and running , by installing old backup software on your Acer hard drive. I've used this little CD drive to install software and play music CDs and so far it's worked flawlessly, even with a single cable (for data transfer) powered by the Acer's USB port. I got mine through PowerOptical and it was only $20.98 with shipping. At this price, no netbook owner/user should be without it!
