Review on ACDelco 18K560 Professional Adjuster Return by William Sanchez

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Not all the springs needed were included.

I read reviews of the Dorman HW7046 Dorman HW7046 Drum Brake Kit and dismissed it because someone claimed that all the required springs/stops were not included in their 1988 Suburban. I also assumed AC Delco knew what was required for my 1990 Chevy K2500. but this assumption was wrong. Also it's hard to believe that this kit is number 2 ranked in Automotive > Parts > Brakes > Support Springs and doesn't have any reviews yet. My kit was missing the spring mounted on the drive arm, as well as the springs to return the arm and strut. although all clamps and clips were included. I don't want to rate this review too negatively but as the kit is incomplete I can't give it more than 3 stars. I'm not sure if there's a full set though, and how do you know if you didn't buy it first? In any case, if you've ever repaired the brakes on a truck like mine, you know that removing the rim and drum is a chore, and I'm disappointed that any springs that are in there now aren't new . I had the Chilton & Haynes manual and none of them helped me put it back together. I'm not a mechanic so the pictures mean a lot to me and I'm glad I took a few before taking it all apart. I also paid about $9 for it and had to believe the picture shown because that's pretty much what this set has. Once you get to work it's too late to put everything back together and return the kit. After checking some details it turned out that there are a couple of missing springs in the ACDelco 18K41 ACDelco 18K41 brake controller kit, but that's more parts than I need, but I'd like to know in advance.
