There is no odd taste, and if there is, you are making the coffee too weak. I've been using it for a few weeks now with no problems. NO, this is NOT a Kcup compatible manufacturer. Open the available K cups and pour 1 cup into the filter. that's all you need! The water supply to the device is NOT impossible or problematic. PRO TIP: Use whatever mug you plan to drink from, fill almost full with water (unless you're using cream, leave room at the top of the mug for cream and fill to that point with water). Pour it into the kettle quickly, not slowly. And honestly, who cares when you have some water on your counter. DANGER AND RINSE THE FILTER AFTER OR BEFORE EVERY USE! ONLY 1 CUP OF COFFEE TO GET THE GREAT FLAVOR AND AN AMAZING CUP OF COFFEE! BUY IT! BUY IT NOW! You will not regret it.
