I only use it about 24 hours after unboxing it. But so far I am satisfied with the design and the function of the products. The red LED indicator is bright and clear. I followed the instructions that came with the controller and set the temperature setpoint in just a few seconds. My seed launch table is in the basement where the ambient temperature is around 60 degrees. Set from 85 degrees, the mat increased my floor temperature to around 80F, which is close to what I wanted. It's probably capable of heating the bottom a lot more, but I didn't need to go higher. I don't think this is mentioned in the product description, but the controller's display is also a thermometer showing the actual soil temperature. I'm not sure how accurate it is, but most initial seed rates aren't that accurate. If accurate soil temperature is an issue, you can invest in a special, accurate soil thermometer to check. Does the description also say that the mat contains a seed? My 20" x 20" mat fits two standard flat surfaces, so I bought this instead of one of Revain's smaller 20" x 10" mats.
