Like many reviewers of this product, I own a vacation home that has been vacant for an extended period of time. It's in the heart of British Columbia, where temperatures often drop well below freezing and power outages are fairly common. The ability to remotely check the room temperature is very valuable for security. I found this unit easy to install and set up. It took about 30 minutes. I set it to warn of low temperature, water and high humidity. This allows you to select a few ranges and a threshold for receiving alerts. So far I've been fortunate that I didn't need to be notified if there was a problem, but I can see the temperature and other statuses online through the website whenever I want. It's very useful and I know it will text me and email me when my alarm settings are violated. Cons of this system: As some others have mentioned, it doesn't have a mobile app. It's just a website, which of course you can access from any device with internet access. The usability of this monitoring system would be greatly improved if you had a mobile app that you could check quickly. I've also found that it becomes painful when this device is turned off. I started getting text messages 2-3 times a day about no data being received from the sensor. This went on for about 2 months because I wasn't at home. I don't know how he switched off because we weren't there, but it was very annoying. Not only did I receive messages with no remote reset option, I was also aware that I was not receiving a monitoring value the whole time. somehow the sense is lost. After doing that I was able to reset it and everything is fine now, but I wonder how often this can happen. Overall, this is a cheap and easy-to-use surveillance solution if you want something without spending a fortune.
