Review on πŸš— Enhance Your Vehicle's Performance with Walker Exhaust 52368 Exhaust Pipe by Curtis Donjuan

American quality, hmm.

Interesting how many assume if something is made in the US then it must be of better quality somehow. This exhaust manifold is a counterexample. It's actually cumbersome. Let's start with the weld quality. It looks like something made in the Shop class. Not impressed at all. Unlike the original Subaru build, this part is made up of different sized tubes welded together to achieve (at least in principle) the same functionality. The Subaru header consists of two stamped steel halves that are welded at the seam. The advantage of the Subaru design lies not only in the ease of automated production, but also in the fact that the transitions along the bends inside the manifold are much smoother. Obviously this design is impractical for a company like Walker (too many car models to produce stamps), but it can still be done better than what I've seen here. Continue on this topic; The exhaust pipes of cylinders 3 and 4 ("rear") are plugged directly into the line that leads to the exhaust of cylinders 1 and 2 ("front" cylinders). This in itself wouldn't be much of a problem *IF* the holes made in the pipe to access the rear exhausts were actually cut with some semblance of precision. However, I found that both rear pipes were about 25-30% blocked due to very poorly cut holes in the main pipe! This is obviously (1) an engine performance issue increasing back pressure in the exhaust (2) prone to premature failure due to rough edges of the main pipe protruding from the tailpipe into the (hottest!) exhaust. Engine. Also, two strands of welding wire were thrown through one of these pipe transitions, just waiting for the exhaust fumes to eat them away, they would fall off and start rattling in the collector. ugly metal protrusions from the exhaust tract with a conventional drill. This should fix most of the obvious issues with this part (which I hate to ship back from Hawaii) and only time will tell if it holds up. particularly suspicious of leaks in a part that seems too dependent on its welds. In my case this happens on a rarely used car and almost anything would be an improvement over the rusted components I removed from the car. .
