Review on Cisco Linksys USB200M EtherFast Network Compatible by Tom Tofte

My first TiVo, which I bought a year ago, the reason I bought this adapter was because it is the only adapter that TiVo has tested and is guaranteed to work with their product. And the first TAT, though I wondered how flimsy it seemed. Well I used the dongle that came with it to connect it and no problem I saw the network and it worked great. So enter my home TiVo #2 which has a built in DVD burner. So I dutifully ran down and bought another Linksys adapter to plug in as well. Nothing but trouble - first thing I came home with, the little metal handles holding the plastic door were broken making it impossible to plug them in. Back to staples, where replacing them is at least easy. Got another one and got back home, plugged it in - he could see the network was fine but it kept dropping out! After much teeth gnashing and hair pulling I removed the known good adapter from the TiVo #1, replaced it with a NEW adapter and guess what - now the TiVo #2 is fine and #1 is intermittent! GRRRRRRR! What junk. My husband immediately wanted to take him to the backyard and smack him to pieces but hey I paid $30 for him so he has to go back to Staples too. I've ordered a Netgear USB adapter from Revain and I'm waiting for it to arrive - by the looks of it, it's much more important than this flimsy little "toy" adapter from Linksys.TiVo, learn the program and listen on recommending this garbage !
