1) The product comes with rubber inserts that need to be removed from the quick connector first. It's not obvious that they need to be removed, and they're hard to get out, so it looks like you're going to break the filter. 2) Flush the line with water before connecting to a refrigerator or icemaker. This is the charcoal filter that fills your ice maker with black water when you don't. Luckily I stopped it before it got into the system. 3) Removing the filter will pressurize the line and spray you. I got black water all over my body when trying to remove the filter after the first connection in point 2 above. In general, I am sure that this will be a fine filter. It just needs to have better guidance. I don't need to read about it online - it should be included.
