To be honest the best interests are water filtration and softener

I shouldn't worry about a product made in the USA, but honestly this one scares me. I ordered 2, they came in a Revain paper mailer (never had one), individually, no packaging, they are dirty on the outside (dents and scratches on the ends and it looks like the soot from use would have come, and then corked and dried again ) and I'm really not sure if they're new. I won't be needing them for a few months so I'm not willing to flush them to see if they're new, but yeah I'm not too keen on…

Pros
  • Good assembly
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

Big Money Saved!: Kitchen & Bathroom Fixtures

A filter that needs to be replaced once a year instead of $40 filters that need to be replaced twice or even four times a year is a lot of money saver . Easy installation, simply turn off the water and cut the 1/4-inch polypropylene tubing common to the mounting kits. Place the water supply in the inlet end of the filter, place the outlet end over a bucket and spin until the water runs clear (instructions say 10 minutes but with my water flow it took about a minute). Be sure to check for leaks,

Requires product instructions supplied with

1) The product comes with rubber inserts that need to be removed from the quick connector first. It's not obvious that they need to be removed, and they're hard to get out, so it looks like you're going to break the filter. 2) Flush the line with water before connecting to a refrigerator or icemaker. This is the charcoal filter that fills your ice maker with black water when you don't. Luckily I stopped it before it got into the system. 3) Removing the filter will pressurize the line and spray…

I can see the difference

Our old fridge had original copper pipes with no filter. The ice cream tasted awful so we didn't use the ice machine for 13 years. I ordered this filter along with a 5ft ¼" PEX line. I removed the old copper pipe and attached the new pipe to the floor outlet and fridge inlet, cut it down the middle and attached the correct end of the filter to the outlet. Then I held the filter over the 5 gallon bucket, turned on the water valve and let it run for a minute until the water ran clear. This is a…

Great filter. READ all label directions first. Rinse the filter FIRST!

This filter works great. I started smelling ice cream and after installing this filter the smell was completely gone. Pros: Works great. The water is ultra clear, clean and no longer smells of ice. A quick-release fastener with PVC hose facilitates replacement if necessary. Cons: I'm handy, so I was able to install it after a trip or two to the hardware store. I could see it's hard to install if you're not handy. Read everything carefully first. The guide for the filter requires you to go…
