Disappointed with the car electronics

The display is large, the touchscreen worked well (when the device was on) and the steering wheel controls worked very well. Apart from these few things, the device was a total disappointment, if you want to know more, you should read on. I bought it for a 1999 Jeep Wrangler. I chose this device because it came with a camera and steering wheel remote control. Since this car is only driven once a weekend every few months, I decided to give it a try. Installation instructions were almost non-existent. Considering I've installed many head units over the years, this wasn't an insurmountable problem for me, but others might be stumped. The display CANNOT be removed by the normal installer as stated in the description, preventing an easy installation in any vehicle that has a dashboard around the radio. The radio does not come with a standard mounting "sleeve" into which the radio can be placed and locked. Instead, two brackets are supplied to attach the radio to the dashboard. This requires hard mounting of the radio before fitting dashboards that don't fit my car. I had to use a mounting sleeve from a previous radio and modify it to accommodate this unit as the antenna and wiring harness connects to the top of the unit. In addition, the antenna had to be connected only after the device was installed, since it did not slip into the sleeve after connection. Then I had to laboriously reach behind the dashboard to connect the antenna. After installing it and turning it on, the sound quality was poor. I was looking for an equalizer for the radio but although the built in manual indicated there should be one it wasn't there. An equalizer is available for some other functions. The home screen is not customizable. Aside from the tricky setup, lack of an equalizer, and a customizable home screen, the device seemed to work well until I used it for the first weekend, after which it became unreliable. The device turned off and then had to be manually turned on again until it finally turned on at all. I checked the power supply on the back of the unit and it was 12v. The unit continued to not turn on until two days later when it turned on again without my intervention. Since then it has come on every time I've started the car, but the car has only been used occasionally over the weekend and I don't expect it to be reliable. The camera failed on the second day of use, but I didn't take the time to troubleshoot, so I can't confirm if it's a fault with the camera, the device itself, or my setup. I will update if there is a change but I don't expect this unit to be reliable and unfortunately it will likely be replaced.
