I bought this for my cat on the recommendation of my vet, please keep this part in mind. If you need to give your cat anything, take her to the vet first. So she has asthma, which is an autoimmune problem, and my cat's vet recommended 500mg of L-lysine per day. I didn't know how to give it to her in capsule form, so I just ripped open the capsule and mixed it with her food. Works great, no smell or taste. I gotta love it The only problem I had with this brand is that the capsules stick together and are difficult to pull apart. I tried rolling it around the counter to loosen the connection but ended up just cutting off the top and dumping the contents. No problem as long as I can get it down her. It seems to be working much better. Please remember, if you need to give your pet anything, whether it be joint medication or something to boost immunity, consult your veterinarian. The problem may be that these things don't fix it. Always consult your veterinarian.
