Absolutely the worst modem I've ever bought.

This overview is for the ARRIS SURFboard DOCSIS 3.0 Cable Modem/Wi-Fi Router AC1900 (SBG6900AC). Absolutely the worst modem I've ever bought. The only thing worse than this product is ARRIS' customer service. If you call them, they will point out all the possible settings that could be causing the problem and ask you to contact your ISP so they can fix it. I believe this works to prevent returns but certainly eliminates the possibility of future sales! I've had a technician twice in my house trying to tweak the parameters coming from the junction box. ARRIS, if your product is so delicate that a brand new home with brand new service in the area requires that level of perfection, you might want to close up shop and let someone better fill the void. The technician already said the line is working, so according to ARRIS it should be out of the office. This is my third ARRIS product and the only one that requires helpdesk interaction and I can honestly say it's not worth the headache. I may have a lemon, if you buy one of these, be sure to call customer service during the return period if you encounter any problems. I admit this is probably the merging of WLAN with a modem. Getting separate devices can confuse the issue. My stock has expired, otherwise I would have just sent it back. For now, I just disconnect the device daily to keep the connection consistent, or disconnect it when I'm having trouble resetting the device. Absolutely terrible on all fronts!
