As a security officer who has owned several Crank radios of this type (including the famous C.Crank brand), I am EXTREMELY impressed with the design of this unit. It really has everything you need for emergencies or everyday use! Despite the size, reception and speakers are of high quality and the additional weather station band is great. At least the best thing for me is the USB charging port, so you can keep your tablet, phone or any other device powered on. I also LOVE the little flip up reading light with motion detection so if you leave the radio will automatically turn off and back on when you return. Sounds a bit trivial, but I had a lot of fun. . My only criticism and complaint is that the knobs feel a bit "plasticy" and brittle and can break (I've unfortunately snapped them on other radios) because they stick out to the side, but for this price. item is the ultimate all-in-one. Small enough to even be carried as a flashlight, which in turn would be good for security work. Should you be a security guard or a camping guy? Yes, consider this radio is awesome.
