Review on EBC Brakes FA226HH: Premium Sintered Copper Alloy Disc Brake Pads in Black - Performance Enhanced by Aaron Romero

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great OEM replacement but not an upgrade.

I have a Honda 599 (CB600F) to start with. The OE brakes were very good to start with as the bike is still a sport bike. Being a naked/street fighter, however, I figured the brakes would be a step below Supersport, as would some of the other components. After about 18,000 miles on the original brakes, it's time to replace them. I bought these EBCs as a friend who tracks and drives his Corvette with EBC on a daily basis and have highly recommended the brand. Based on my interpretation of their website, this appears to be the best performing outdoor last they make. I've done about 600 miles on them and I can say they scavenge up speed just as well as the stock brakes, but no better. In moderately aggressive street riding, the fade doesn't seem to be there, although I haven't had to make any high-speed stops to really test them yet. They don't initially grab or bite as much as the original brakes and are very linear. This can be a plus or a minus depending on your preferences. I'm used to the quick bite, but I'm sure I'll get used to it over time. Not sure how longevity will work as they are too new to talk about. Overall, for the price and quality, I would definitely recommend these pads and would buy them again - assuming they last.
