The most important thing about icinga, it's free! We use this for our network infrastructure with many servers in different locations around Europe (France mostly). It does what we need - alerting when things go wrong or not working well enough to be considered 'good'. When you have more than one server/machine involved there can sometimes get confused by multiple alerts etc., but if they're all monitored together then everything works great :) If your looking at using something like icingaweb2 instead look into how easy its going to integrate other services too such as AWS Cloudwatch / Grafana + Zabbix integration would make life much easier! Also consider whether just having some simple checks set up will do rather than needing an entire solution which looks complicated unless needed really?
